Jack Downes, a current year 13 student has recently joined the Holocaust Educational Trust as a Regional Ambassador for a three-year term. Attending the launch event for new Regional Ambassadors at London Central Synagogue he said: “I hope that being Regional Ambassador allows me to provide the platform upon which we can offer holocaust education to all in our local communities, and amplify the importance of holocaust testimony and other genocides all across the world.” 

The Holocaust Educational Trust was established in 1988, their aim is to educate young people from every background about the Holocaust and the important lessons to be learned for today. The Trust works in schools, universities and in the community to raise awareness and understanding of the Holocaust, providing teacher training, an outreach programme for schools, teaching aids and resource material. One of our earliest achievements was ensuring that the Holocaust formed part of the National Curriculum for History. To find out more about this amazing charity and the work they do visit:
