Our Courses

Full A level courses (AS+A2)

We offer over 40 A level subjects including subjects not available at any other local sixth form. We do not operate option blocks so you are free to select any range of six subjects. Applicants called to interview can then discuss these, along with career and / or university aspirations, in order to develop a programme of four or five subjects that are most appropriate to each individual applicant. In addition to A level courses, all students are encouraged to make use of a large range of additional opportunities and experiences we offer.

If you are considering applying to Oxford, Cambridge, or another of the countries’ leading universities, you’ll be especially interested in the Russell Group pathways advice regarding A Level choices as well as HE+, a structured programme of events and experiences run jointly by Cambridge University and King Edward’s. If a future in finance sounds appealing you could join our ‘Finance Baccalaureate’ programme completing under-graduate level work and gaining ‘square mile’ working experience with our partner organisation the Royal Bank of Scotland. Students with firm career aims, from medicine to accountancy, can benefit from our extensive work experience placements whilst musicians and sportspeople can become involved in a wealth of performing groups and individual or team sports. We regularly have students competing in national squads and Olympic competitions.

Other optional activities include award bearing courses such as the Certificate of Financial Studies or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and a variety of enrichment activities from conversational Russian to Scuba diving.
