Student Union

A very warm welcome from the Student Union! The Student Union, a student-elected body, is at the centre of arranging events and voicing students’ views. The executive is made up of year 13 students, who began as shadow representatives in year 12. The Student Union is linked with various other organising bodies; the entertainments committee, the charities committee and the equality and diversity committee. The union has termly meetings with students who represent their tutor groups and let us know what we can do to improve the college to meet their needs and interests.

We are constantly organising events; mainly parties and charity events, where all students get involved and make the most of the opportunities.

We have raised thousands of pounds for a variety of charities and have supported students who have ideas and plans to raise funds for their preferred charity.

For those of you who are in a band, the Student Union have the pleasure of organising band nights, giving you all a chance to show your great musical talent. End of term parties have also been a great success, dressing up and dressing to a range of themes. Another event that always attracts loads of students, teachers and parents is the annual rugby sixth form match, where we have great local bands playing after the match.

It’s not all just working hard, we also play hard! You can get involved with the Student Union as much as you want, whether it is by joining the Student Union, helping out with the different committees or just donating some money to fantastic causes. The student experiences and opportunities will be endless!
