The King Edward VI College Scholarship award seeks to encourage and support ambitious students who might not naturally consider further and higher education. A total of twenty scholarships are awarded to students joining the College in September whose results show excellent progress and attainment and whose parents did not go to university. The award will continue for scholars who progress to year 13, contingent upon achieving end-of-year examination results which meet or exceed target grades.
Scholarship recipients will be awarded £500 per annum to help support their studies, with a possible bonus award of £100. Details will be advertised to all in-coming students.
Please note that this scholarship is not linked to Financial Support for Students; therefore those in receipt of a scholarship may also apply for Financial Support for Students.
Bursary Award for Community Service (at home or abroad)
Over the years many students from King Edward VI College have been involved in valuable service to communities around the world and in this country – helping children in orphanages, working in sports projects and community events, working in hospitals overseas and a full range of other valuable, lifechanging work.
The college wishes to support students performing this valuable service through The King Edward VI College Award for Community Service. The award is to be given in the form of a bursary to any student planning a summer or gap year project involving voluntary work within the wider community in the UK or overseas. Details will be advertised in the current year.
College closure from 7:00am on 24th July 2017
