Teaching and learning
We are continuing to deliver education to our students through on-line course delivery. It is of vital importance that all students continue to engage in their learning, as directed by their teachers.
The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. We will do everything we can to minimise disruption to our students’ education; however, we recognise that in these unprecedented times, our ways of working will necessarily be different to our normal practices when staff and students come together in the classroom.
For on-line course delivery, this is what we aim to provide, subject to teachers’ health:
Cancellation of all examinations:
We understand that this is a worrying time for students who were preparing for examinations. We will do our best to update you with the latest information about how qualifications will be awarded. We encourage you to read the latest update, available here.
Pastoral support for our students during the closure period:
Our intention is to continue to support you as best as we can. Your personal tutor and lead tutor are available via email and, in some cases, via telephone. We also encourage you to download theWhatsUp App(if you haven’t already) via App Store or Google Play and get free, confidential wellbeing support. Safeguarding Leads will aim to quickly answer any messages you send via this facility.
If you are currently accessing counselling or are on the waiting list, the counselling team will be in touch as soon as possible regarding how they can continue or begin to support you.
