VISA information

How to gain your Study Visa:

Accepting a place at King Edward VI College will help to ensure that your Visa application is simple, smooth and successful.

We will work with you (or your agent) to ensure that all paperwork is complete and that all evidence is in place confirming your suitability for your chosen courses. If we think you are not suitable for A Level study, we will tell you this at interview stage.

When we are certain you are suitable for our courses we will issue you a conditional offer, request any additional paperwork we need, and complete any reference checks we require (eg we check all IELTS certificates with the issuing body).

At this stage you should be booking your IELTS test if not done.  You will require a score of at least 5.5 (higher for some A Level courses - discussed at interview) and at least 5.0 in every element.

Once all paperwork is complete and deposit received we will issue you an unconditional offer. This provides you with the CAS number you need when applying for your study visa. The CAS is worth 30 of the 40 points you need to secure your two year study visa. We will also advise on the financial information you will need to provide.

  1. Home Office Guidance (April 2016) regarding Student Visa Applications
  2. Documents you need to apply to UKVI
  3. How to pay the health surcharge (for fee medical treatment in the UK)
  4. How to contact UKVI from outside the UK
  5. Visa application centres in China
  6. Visa application centres in the rest of the world
  7. Biometric Residence Permit explained
  8. Booking your IELTS for UKVI test

The CAS is a statement of relevant information about you, your sponsor and your programme of study, along with a unique reference number which will be valid for use in a Tier 4 Visa (General) application for 6 months from the date it is provided by us. We will work with you to ensure you present your documents correctly so as to secure this visa.
