This year’s results reflect another successful year for students at King Edward VI College Stourbridge. Building on a long tradition of academic achievement, this year’s outcomes are among the best in the history of the college.

  • 99% pass rate across a total of 2936 exams
  • Nearly 2000 high grades at A*-B awarded at A level
  • 30 courses have a 100% pass rate
  • French, Drama, Music and Textiles courses all had 100% A*-C grades or better

Principal Holly Bembridge said, “I’m so proud of our students – their hard work, resilience and ambition have paid off. These results open up great opportunities for their futures, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next!”.

Here are a selection of reflections and reactions from students receiving their examination results today:

“I’m Lucas, and I’ve achieved 3 A* grades in French, Economics and Maths. I’m pleased and super relieved and I’m going to University of Oxford (Merton College) to read Politics and Economics. I’m thinking about working in development finance, humanitarian issues and not for profit organisations. King Ed’s has been brilliant for me, the support has second to none! Staff have always gone above and beyond to give feedback. My teachers believed in me, and I was encouraged to apply for Oxford. I’ve encouraged my little brother to think about King Ed’s in the future as I think it’s a really good college.”

“I’m Lily and I’ve achieved 4 A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Spanish. I’m studying Mathematics at University of Manchester. Everyone is really ambitious at King Ed’s, all of the teachers want you to aim for the top, and I’ve really enjoyed my time here”.

“I’m Ada, and I got an A* in Law, A in English Literature and A in Psychology. I’m going to study Law at University of Nottingham. Although A Levels have a lot of pressure, King Ed’s has been good at pushing me and never letting me be complacent. It’s what got me the grades”.
