To help with the transition into college we hosted a four week series of transition webinars for parents and guardians of new year 12 students. Please click the links below to view the recordings. We hope you find them useful.

Tuesday 17 September – Studying at KEDS and how to make the most out of college life

Find out how we approach teaching and the curriculum at King Ed’s – and how you can help your child to make a great start and thrive in their studies. We will also explore the many exciting opportunities beyond the classroom and discuss how to make the most of the King Ed’s experience.

Tuesday 24 September – An Intro to the Careers and Progression Support

The team introduce you to the KE Careers service including information on KE Pathways, the student journey and the types of progression available.

Tuesday 1 October – Support & Wellbeing at College

How we support your child’s mental health and wellbeing at college, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. During this session, we shared the resources and support systems we have in place to ensure every student thrives both academically and emotionally. It is also an opportunity to hear from our Designated Safeguarding Lead, or Lead Counsellor and Medical Welfare Officer who work collaboratively to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where all students feel valued and empowered.

Tuesday 8 October – Aiming High with Aspire

This session focuses on how we encourage and support students to be ambitious in their academic outlook and to consider and feel prepared to apply to the most competitive universities and courses. You will be introduced to how ambition is at the heart of our approach to students and learn more about what’s involved with our Aspire programme.
