The governing body and the senior leadership team are committed to working collaboratively with Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership (DSPP), the police and local authority children’s services to safeguard and promote the welfare of any young person enrolled at or visiting the college. This means that we proactively aim to:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
- ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, and
- taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
All members of staff have a role to play in safeguarding the welfare of young people and in preventing their abuse. This involves our proactive compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) which, together, form the statutory guidance for agencies working with children and young people.
All members of staff receive appropriate training and supervision to ensure that they can effectively discharge this important role.
