Aspire
King Edward’s has an excellent track record of enabling students to progress to competitive universities and high-flying careers. The Aspire programme supports highly aspirational students to reach their goals, through a range of activities and opportunities designed to guide, challenge, and inspire, including:
- Timetabled sessions, in place of enrichment, designed to help develop critical thinking and debate skills, and to foster a broader appreciation for all disciplines. Classes examine concepts like revolutions, conspiracies, assumptions, and ethics, and are designed to ensure that all students can bring their own knowledge, experience, and unique perspectives to the issue being examined.
- The chance to challenge and encourage people with similar academic backgrounds and potential, including the opportunity to connect with ex-KE students currently at institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, and Edinburgh.
- Detailed and early preparation for UCAS applications to high tariff universities and for the early entry application process, including visits to OxBridge Colleges and talks from Admissions Tutors.
- One-to-one support, feedback, and encouragement for your application at every step of the way, including course and institution selection, personal statement review, interview practice, and entrance test preparation.
- The Aspire room, a bookable quiet study space.
