Current Students
All current students who decide to apply to university will receive support with their UCAS application from their Personal Tutor, Lead Tutor, or Aspire if they are an early entry applicant.
Support is provided in a range of ways, including:
- Tutorial programme
- UCAS drop-ins
- Careers talks & events
Ex-Students
If you are an ex-student of King Ed’s and are completing your UCAS application, you will be considered as an independent application. Please see the guidance below for more details on how to complete your independent application:
- As an ex-student applying to university, you will need to register on the UCAS Apply 2023 system as an independent application – you must not attach as a full student or request to be linked to the college. You should only apply as an independent student for a reference only by scrolling down to the reference section and click on need a reference.
- You will then need to follow the guidance in the document below (see link at the bottom of the page) and enter the buzzword, kecstour25.
- Once this is done, please email jane.f.edwards@kedst.ac.uk and she will then accept your request and ask your previous Personal Tutor to update your reference.
- As we cannot see your application in full, please indicate what course you are applying for (plus any additional information you feel is relevant to your application).
Retakes: If you are sitting retakes at King Edward VI College, you must add the college twice in the Education section of your application. Once for the time you were a student with us, and the grades you obtained, and a second time, where you will need to list any retake examinations with grades pending.
NB – for retakes you will be given the same predicted grades as you were predicted when you were a student with us. We are unable to change these predictions as we have not been involved with your studies since leaving us.
