College isn’t just about A-levels—it’s about broadening your horizons, discovering new passions, and finding balance. Our diverse range of enrichment activities offers you the opportunity to develop new skills, forge friendships, and take a well-earned break from the pressures of academic life. Whether you want to explore a hobby, boost your mental well-being, or gain a qualification, there’s something for everyone.
A Wide Variety of Opportunities
We offer an exciting selection of enrichment activities, from creative outlets to career-enhancing experiences. You might find yourself writing for The Campus Collective (our student newspaper), debating topics in C@KE (Conversation at King Eds), or hosting discussions on Campus Conversations (our college podcast). If you prefer something active, why not try Yoga, 5-a-side football, or Self-Defence? For those who enjoy hands-on activities, we have Lego Club, Knitting, and Mindfulness Colouring. Or, if you want to challenge yourself intellectually, join Stocks and Shares Club, learn British Sign Language, or prepare for medical school with UCAT Prep.
Qualifications and UCAS-Boosting Enrichment
We also offer enrichments that provide qualifications or UCAS points, helping to enhance your personal statement or CV:
- Sports Leader Qualification – Develop leadership skills while promoting teamwork and fitness.
- Environmental Leadership Programme – Get involved in sustainability initiatives and make a real impact.
- Youth STEMM – A fantastic opportunity for students interested in science, technology, engineering, maths, or medicine.

Get Involved
Enrichment is an essential part of your college experience, offering you the chance to step outside your academic studies, meet like-minded people, and develop skills that could shape your future. Details of available activities for 2025-2026 will be shared in the autumn term via email and at our Freshers event in September.
Your Student Union – Your Voice, Your College
At King Edward’s, the Student Union (SU) is at the heart of college life, representing and empowering the student body. Our mission is simple: to make sure your voice is heard and to create a college experience that reflects what students want and need.
The SU is led by a team of elected Year 13 representatives, who campaign to win your votes and take on key roles in shaping college events, student-led initiatives, and policy discussions. They work closely with senior staff, ensuring that student perspectives are considered in decision-making.
Midway through the academic year, Year 12 students have the chance to run for the Shadow Student Union, preparing to take full office the following year. This system ensures a smooth transition and continued student leadership.
Each SU member has a dedicated area of focus, from student welfare and personal tutor liaison to community outreach and volunteering, events and equality and diversity. With a self-raised budget, they organise college-wide events, fund projects, and enhance student spaces.
The Student Union is your platform for change—whether you have an idea for an event, a suggestion for improvement, or a cause you’re passionate about, we’re here to support and amplify your voice.
Get involved, speak up, and help shape your college experience!
