Counselling Services
Staff and students have access to three fully qualified counsellors on-site who deal with a variety of issues in complete confidence. They are highly trained and provide an integrative approach to the sessions, tailoring each appointment to the individual need of the client.
Referrals to the Counselling Service can be made via your Personal Tutor, Lead Tutor, Teachers or self referral. The counselling Service is available to students and staff five days a week from 8.30am-4.30pm.
Once referred, you will be asked to attend a 15 minute initial assessment meeting and will then be placed on a waiting list. Appointments are offered around your other timetable commitments, so there are no clashes with your lessons. If appropriate, you will be offered six weekly sessions which will always be at the same time with the same counsellor. Should you require further sessions, this will be discussed with you. Sessions are confidential, unless you state something which is a safeguarding concern.
We can offer support with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family breakdown, self-harm, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, essentially anything that you may want to talk about it, the sessions are yours to discuss what you want. We also provide workshops and support groups for various topics including social anxiety and loneliness.
